Rep. Jones Participates in Panel at Front Line Leaders Academy
LANSING — State Rep. Jewell Jones (D-Inkster) participated the 2018 Front Line Leaders Academy graduation in Washington, D.C., this past weekend. Rep. Jones served on the Candidacy Learning Circle Assessment along with several others to critique stump speeches from fellows in the program.
“It is always an honor to see young people engage with their communities,” Jones said. “These fellows gave some great speeches, and I think that not only do they have the ability to galvanize other community members to act, but they have the knowledge and understanding to create positive and lasting changes wherever they go.”
Front Line Leaders Academy was established to train the next generation of candidates, communication directors, financial directors and campaign managers. Fellows learn a wide range of political skills and compile several resources that will help them be effective local leaders. When the program is complete, fellows give a series of presentations for legislators and political influencers to explain and test their theories and political strategies.
“I was very impressed with the fellows from this year’s graduating class, and I want to extend my congratulations to each and every one of them,” Jones said. “All of us are very excited to see them to make their mark on the world.”
